Hi,
i try to change the impeler on this model Chrysler approx.1970 model 15hp.
I removed the 4 screws below ,as you said but the leg comes out only 1cm.
Where is the gear change linkage? can you help me find it? I was trying for 2hous and could not . So i posted those photos.
In the small opening when i pulled the leg a little, i saw a small screw that joined 2 rods. I removed the screw but nothing happened. The leg still will not come out. Also i canot put it back to its place.
Can you indicate what i sould do?
Thanks a lot
Elias

Re: Chrysler 15hp - impeller change?

Might be relevent or not but I have a 85' 15hp force. I changed the impeller yesterday and it was pretty easy EXCEPT that stupid hex screw about a inch long. Took me a good 30mins to get it right and screw back. AND YES after the removal of the four bolts and hex screw, you should be able to take off lower unit.

Re: Chrysler 15hp - impeller change?

as i am still trying to get off the lower unit, please send any idea that might help.
I have removed the 4 screws of the leg. The lower unit came out approx. 0.5 cm or 0.2 inch. I show a small screw that was connectin the uper with the lower gear shift rods.
Still the lower unit does not come out. It moves slightly up and down, but does not come out.
Also the opening is too small , and i canot put back the small screw on the gear shift rods.
Any idea what is the problem?
Thanks
Elias
