.I have a 73 20 hp chrysler SS...I have only 50 psi in the top cyl and I am just looking ahead. I plan on pulling this apart over the next few days and inspecting the head..cyl..pistons etc.. ..since I don't have much money tied up in this motor yet I may I decide to repair/replace powerhead.
Is there interchangability of powerheads or block on '68 to '74 20 hp motors. I've seen powerheads and shortblocks for sale from those year ranges and they look identical but with differences in model numbers... ie.. 202, 203,204,205 just in the 1973 category. 1969: 200,201,202,203 models.......Bore,stroke,displacement is the same between years and models. It would seem the differences may be electric start, or long shaft..or designed for saltwater use whatever that means.
