I asked my local boat mechanic about changing my oil pump on my 32 Marinette. He quoted me 40 hours and 4000 dollars to do it. I notice a few other posts on differnt style boats and they were like 8-10 hours. Has anyone ever removed an engine from a 32 Marinette Fly Bridge sedan? Thanks

I some how remember 4 to 5 hours to pull an engine out....we would tie her up by the bulkhead and would use a back hoe to reach into the salon area and use a chain fall to raise the engine up as far as possible, then raise the boom on the back hoe to get it to clear the engine compartment and slowly bring it back,.....
So to answer your question, about 10 hours to R and R the engine plus about another 2 hours for the pump, if that's all is wrong with it.......extra time for rust and alignment.
Just wondering, why the oil pump?

Around 12 for the whole job sounds about right, unless you have some particulars about your boat that require major disassembly to get a backhoe or a boom truck or something over the engine to lift it out. I've pulled them with both, though I honestly prefer the boom truck, a backhoe works fine if its in decent shape and you have a good operator.

And I'm with zinc, why the pump? Very seldom have I seen low oil pressure conditions resolved with a replacement oil pump. Most of the time its worn main bearings, or sometimes worn cam bearings. The pumps themselves very seldom wear out or go bad.
