Chrysler 55 HP 1982

I need help. I am attempting to take the lower unit apart. Inside the housing, there is a split snap ring, about 3/16ths diameter, that retains the gears and propshaft. What tool will remove this two peice snap ring???? I have tried everything that I can think of.

kia ora<br />i assume a "snapring" is the same as a "circlip"<br />if so, "circlip" pliers are the tool<br />there are those for external and internal circlips<br />te aroha<br />shalom

Hey kiwiana,where are you in NZ, Been down to your fine country 12 times since 1991. Never seen so many boats as in Auckland harbor. Took me 3 years but I finally took every passenger train in your country-3 of those times in the locomotive cab.
