Chrysler 55HP Magneto Tachometer

I have a 55HP Chrysler with magneto battery point ignition (no alternator). Model is 555BC.<br />How do I hook up a tach? Do I have to use a spark lead inductive tach like the TinyTach? Or is there a regular "needle" tach that I can use?<br /><br />I have a Faria outboard tach (for a 4 to 12 pole alternator). Is this of any use or is it going on EBay?

I got the TinyTach for my 55hp magneto Chrysler. Haven't hooked it up yet. I made the mistake of not getting the extension lead for it. I hope someone in this forum can answer your questions because I'm interested too.
