Re: Chrysler 6hp gearbox oil

I have the same question in regard to my 1974 Chrysler 10hp motor. As of today, I own both a factory service manual and a factory parts manual, but not much info is given in either one. The accessories section of the parts manual merely states that "Chrysler Outboard Gear Lube" should be used. Mikey's motor (64hd) is a 1976 6hp, so the proper oil for his motor is most likely the same as for mine.

Does anyone know if the LubriMatic, semi-synthetic gear lube sold at Walmart is suitable?
