Hi,

while Im still restoring my old 16" Glastron, Ive bought an older Chrysler 700 skier motor- it was an occasion, got it pretty cheap. The good point on it is that it has a complete power trim & tilt unit. My 70 hp Johnson which came with the boat has not. Both motor seem to have the same amount of wear and running hours, so which one would you choose?
Next question: For the Chrysler I have no controlbox and no wiring-schematic- anybody out there who could at least mail me the latter? How did the controlbox look or where could I get one? I have an old Kiekhafer Mercontrol, could I use that one with maybe some smaller changes?

thanks-a-lot guys and many greetings from Germany,
Rotti

... forgot to mention that the Johnson is a 1979 3-cylinder and the Chrysler should be a 1980 3-cylinder model!

In my opinion this choice is a no-brainer. Chrysler engines are junk and the Johnson/Evinrude in-line threes are one of the best outboards ever made.

Rotti, that really is the best course to take ... think of it as selling a Yugo to cherry out your Rolls Royce ...

would you really want to sell your Rolls just to lemon out a ****ing Yugo?????

Like to Row? Buy a Chrysler!
