chrysler 75 hp

I just got this boat. It has sat for over 10 years. At first I didn't have a spark at all, so i went and got a used cdi box. I got spark now, but the motor only runs for about 5-10 min. then dies. It won't start and I can't get any spark.<br />PLEASE HELP<br />I have no clue about boat motors<br />thanks for the help!!!!

Hi Skyzoo,<br /><br /> When it ran for only 5-10 minutes, did this only happen one time and now you can't get it to start again?? Are you checking for spark using a spark tester?<br /><br /> If you can verify spark, I would try squirting some premix into each carb and see if she'll start that way. If so, then you've isolated it to a fuel delivery problem. If no spark, we'll work on that first.<br /><br />Shane

Turtle<br />The motor does start and run, but for only about 5-10 min. no i didn't use a spark tester. I took the plug out and tried starting to see if there is a spark. gas flowing just fine. starter gets really hot. maybe starter shorten it out? maybe a coil? thanks for the help.
