Hello everyone!
First I have to thank you people for all the time and effort you give to making this a great site. I have been reading and reading for a few days now, and there's still much to learn.
I dragged home a Chrysler Courier 154 this week. My first project boat. Well, first 'glass project boat. I have a little 12' aluminum shallow V fishing boat with an Evinrude 3 horse I got for free and got running.
Dave over at the Chrysler Crew web site helped me with the HIN to tell me the year is a '75.
Here's a few pictures:
What I am wondering, is....is it worth it? I snagged it for $250 but there's a LOT of work to be done! Like, many stress cracks, transom is shot with stress cracks and rot, and I'm sure the stringers are gonna be toast.
I like the lines, it's different. Not sexy, but unusual. A wanna be Hydro.
I plan on a total tear down and rebuild. All the 'glass work, new gel coat, customize the deck ect.... I'm a carpenter (18 years) and am very handy mechanically.
Can anyone give me a guess as to what I can expect time wise? There's no way I am gonna finish it for this season. I live in Michigan, so I have to find a place to work on it. (I don't have a heated dry space at home...)
Thanks,
James
