My wifes 99 Durango needs the upper intake gasatet replaced which requires the intake to come off to gain access to the plate on the bottom. Its been a while since I"ve done any serious wrench pulling.... 30+years...How horrible is pulling a 1999 5.2/318cid intake manifold??

Its not to bad to do but it has been a while since I did my last intake on a 5.2/5.9 so I don?t remember all the details, but the ignition timing is set by the crankshaft sensor not the distributor on that so you should be ok just marking the position of the distributor base and rotor direction and reinstalling the way it came out, otherwise you will need a good scan tool with data to properly set the distributor position. Also don't forget to replace the bypass hose to the water pump wile you are there.
