Hi,

I'd like to connect the following tach to my 1981 Suzuki Dt85, but need to know about the tach itself to check compatability.

It says:

Chrysler on front dial..(no suprises I guess..)
Casing rear :
MEDALLION INST INC Made in USA
inside casing is stamped JUN 06 1978

rear connections:
LT (for bulbs to light face
GRD (ground)
s (??sensor/suply/signal)

Also a 4 position rotary selector swith, numbered 1,2,3,4. On the circuit board these go to a trim pot each.

My (long winded, sorry...)questions are:
are these for cylinder no. selection?

Where would the sensor be connected (from magneto I'm roughly guessing..)

Can I assume that it's a simple voltage divider type curcuit and hence set it on 3 cyl, adjust the trimpot and away we go??

Thanks for your collective thoughts on the rather cute instrument,
Regards from Oz,
David B

Re: Chrysler(Medallion) tacho mystery

Not familiar with ricer engine wiring, but should have a tach output connection somewhere from engine. The tach reads firing impluses. Just connect tach output from engine to "s" terminal and set selector to however many cylinders engine has and go.
