Chrysler tracer?

I picked this old boat up from a friend of mine. We rescued it from a barn on his families property. The transom and floor need to be replaced, along with the foam under the deck. I think its a Chrysler Tracer, but I'm not positive. It has some numbers on the back of the transom on a Chrysler tag, but it doesnt seem to be enough numbers to be a HIN. (Pre 1972, I guess?) Does anyone know of a resource to find out about these boats? I am new to this site, new to boats, but i really want to bring this old guy back to life. It's 14' and has a max HP of 40. The throttle says evinrude and the motor says evinrude 33 ski twin. Any tips?

Without a HIN (Hull Identification Number) to trace, I don't know what it is. But if you are going to refurbish this boat, motor and trailer back to life, you've come to the best place for help and assistance. There are tons of boat projects on here and a lot of finished ones you can read up on. That way you will learn the lingo and see how others did their project boats as well. It isn't easy work but if you stick with it and don't mind being itchy, sweaty, and spend the money, it can be brought back to new condition and will last as long as you want to keep it... Post some more pictures of different angles and even in side the hull...

Certainly could be. It is very similar to a Lone Star I had as a kid, and Chrysler bought Loan Star when they got into the boat business in the 1960s.

This does seem to be a great resource site. Thanks for the response guys. The old Chrysler ad was pretty cool GA BOATER. Here's some more pics.
