Complete Newbie here, while crusing at 25-30 suddenly a persistant alarm (sounding like the ingnition key when I first turn the engine) came on several
of the dash buttons seem to be lit...after stopping for lunch (engine off for at least an hr) the same sound stayed on for a couple of minutes after starting the engine....Later the same alarm returned at low idle while slowing down to help a rowboater, and later in the slip (both at low idle)....questions:

1) Is there a place where bayliner alam conditions are listed?
2) I found references to low oil pressure (mine appeared to be 80+ ), engine heat seemed just north of 170....( this is yr 2000 2455 Cierra)

Any insights would be appreciated,
Thanks

I guessing that you don't have a owner's manual - if so they would all be explained. Give a ring to your local dealer and pose the question to him. Just double check all of your engine oils ( including lower unit ) water, etc. It's not often that the sending units go bad and register a false alarm but a whole lot easier to check the entire system. Note which dash lights are on when you get your warning alarm - will help to narrow it down some.

It could be your TEMP. Alarm. 180 is too hot. Normal temp should be 140-150. What kind of cooling system do you have?? I have a RAW WATER system. 80+ for the oil seems way too high too, It should be reading about 40
