cigarette lightere installation

good A.M.<br />i own an alumacraft navigator 175 cs. i would like to install a cigarette lighter so i can operate my GPS. is this installation easy? there is a fuse box under the console.

If you can drill a Hole the right size,+ attach the center wire to a positive power source,+ the wire from the lighter body to a ground,......<br /><br />Ayuh,......... It's Easy..........<br /><br />If Any of that sounds like it's "Over Your Head",...........<br /><br />You'd Better Have It Done..........

bondo, sounds easy enough, then i should be able to wire directly to fuse panel and install inline fuse. does this sound right?<br /><br />greetings from the st. lawrence

Sure! Wire it to a terminal that stays "Hot" all the time.....

If there is an empty fuse slot in the fuse box, no need for an in-line fuse. Install one in the box.

thanks upinsmoke,<br />yes there is a large fuse box in the console. any idea as to the size of fuse i should install?

Your manual should explain what fuse to install and show a schematic. Always use a fuse... it could save your GPS.
