Had a leak from my water pump mounting bolts (the side that has 2 bolt holes and a water bypass hole) When I removed the pump it looked like the bypass hole was plugged with junk (first picture) I tried to dig it out ...no luck. Started to clean up the surfaces only to find out the hole was never drilled out (second picture). I think 97'-98' is when they changed to the bypass hole water pump and my block got caught someplace in between. Were their any other changes in the water circulation system in '98 The leak came from the gasket around the bypass hole and looks to be a weak point without a 3rd bolt. Also it looks like there was some sort of sealant around the bolt threads, what is suggested?
