Re: Civil War in Iraq?

and this is a suprise only to our current war planners?
maybe they can set aside their differences, they havent in the past 300 years or so, but maybe by May they will become fast friends and live happily everafter.
I hope not but fear were going to be sitting in the middle of a civil war soon.
could it have been avoided? beats me, but with the plan in march of 03 it was assured.
but HW took a lot of flak for not advancing to bagdad in 91. but he had a reason cause he had no plan. the war in 91 was over about the time it started. it started and stopped before any plan to remove saddam and fill the power vacum without creating a civil war could be developed.

Who is "they"?

Some of them, the majority, want what we want for them. The Sunni want their power back.

Either they get the Sunni into their government and supporting it or there will be heck to pay.

they refer to the 4 main factions vying for power and that hate each other as well as most the rest of the world.
how bout the Kurds? do they remain autonomous and get the oil fields or do the also become part of iraq, so far they wish to remain autonomous. I dont think it will be a workable govt that way.
