1996 Glastron. 4.3GS Volvo Penta with SX cobra drive (early 1996 engine with carburator and 12-bolt intake manifold).
I'm removing engine and have the Clymer Volvo Penta 1994-2000 shop manual. The out drive is pulled off.
In the manual, the last step before lifting engine out, says "Remove mounting bolts (see figure 11) from the clamp ring at the rear".
Figure 11 is a photo of a long bolt being removed from near where the drive shaft goes through the transom. I do not see these bolts. I don't think my drive is same as shown in figure 11.
Is there an error in the manual??
Is there some version of the drive connection that does not have the "clamp ring" or has a different type?
What is a clamp ring anyway?
