clams... HELP.. 115 !! noise!!

Sat. off the coast of maine..all of a sudden...noise...bro..checks...motor still running...#4 cold...pulls wire...no change...but when he put wire back on...noise ..got better..sunday ...check #4 pull wire ...plug very loose..looked in hole ..looks ok.....took out #3 plug put it in #4 ..put #4 in # 3 ...but i don't dare do anything else ...'till i hear from you ...thanks 2.5 turns loose...i have had plugs go loose on a generator and aa air compressor...but not a boat motor...

I usually don't get overly vocal about poorly written threads, but holy hell... I can't understand anything that you've written here.

I gather that you are hearing an unknown noise from your engine, and that you suspect it has something to do with a lose spark plug? What does the noise sound like? Also, more details on the engine please, year, model.

Tighten down all 4 plugs, does the noise persist? Are there metal shavings on the threads of the plug? Is the head stripped?

We're going to need some more info

87 ...I-6... 115hp...posted one time about blown fuses...turned out to be power trim fluid low!!...i think this is just a loose plug...motor ran fine ..3 miles back up river...tide draining hard...3-4 knot drain...she kept up no problem...but if i gave anymore gas ...she got rough...like a cylinder down...my (bro)...is a machinist...for 26 years...he says not a thing wrong...i'm a carpenter...i don't do well with metal..clams is from NH...i'm from ME what W. says goes..i appreciate your help...it was 5 am this morning...sorry if i didn't make alot of sense!...thanks...k...

no metal on plug...no heli coil...
