Classic 50 Impeller Replacement

Hello All !! I am replacing the impeller in a 87 Merc 45hp. I have the top half of the impeller housing off an am wondering if the lower part comes out of the housing. I have pictures, I dont know if i can get them in this post. Please email me if you would like to see them. Thanks for all the help. Dave

The lower half comes out with a good deal of prying and swearing. If you don't need to replace it, leave it alone. You might ruin it in the attempt. There may be a Flush plug near the gearlube Vent screw. Take that plug out if it's there.
