Re: classic 50 starting problems
This is a real brain teaser.
Engines run on fuel, air, and spark, at the right time, with a little compression thrown in for grins.
If it runs ok at first then quits when temp comes up we are looking at a temp related problem.
Most temp related problems are related to ignition and in particular to ignition coils.
With today's electronic ignition systems, however, temp can affect them too if they overheat because they get hot and the number 1 reason for that is that is that the solid state modules are not adequately heat sunk to their heat sink.
#1 cause of that is the thermal grease that is installed between the electronics and sink dries out and quits providing a thermal path; hence things get hot.
Balls in your court.
Look around and get back.
