Our gray canvas mooring cover has been dirty for a while, and now it's time to clean it. We purchased some mildew cleaner and I sprayed it on as per the instructions. It didn't do much, however, so I don't believe mildew is the problem.

Elbow grease isn't really a problem for me, but are they are products available that might make the job easier? What sort of household items work well on a stain on this kind of fabric?

About a month ago, I shredded a bar of Ivory soar with a cheese grater, and melted it out in a bucket with hot water. I laid my canvas covers over some boards on a saw horse, and scrubbed it with a soft bristle brush. Washed it off with a hose, let it dry, and treated it with some 303 Fabric Protector.

You might try it, if it is a canvas.

I used some consecrated lysol mixed it about 50/50 lot scrubbing and my black canvas turned to burgundy in about an hour.
