Cleaning a SS prop

OK, what's the best way to get that crusty tarnish off a stainless steel prop without scratching or damaging it in the process?<br /><br />Those of you you whose props lie in salt water for months at a time must have a few tricks up your sleeves.<br />Whats the best way?<br /><br />Thanks

Buffing compound and a small polisher is about the best way to get that shine back without removing too much material. It takes a long time, however. Good luck!

I use motor oil and then a few weeks later I polish it back some times repeat the process
