How do you guys clean the anodes on your motors? I read somewhere that you are not supposed to use a wire brush or wheel.

Thanks,

They make tooth brush size SS wire brushes that work fine and are sold at most hardware stores

If there is 1/2 left or more you can clean them up.The best way to clean them is while it is submerged .Any stiff brush will get it suffeciently cleaned to be effective. The best brush would be wire. The annode may look like there is plenty left but check it again after it is cleaned up.If the annode is off the rig and dry, take it to a grinding wheel.I do the grinding wheel method every other year before replacing them.Charlie
