Hi, 1987 Mercruiser 5/7 liter Alpha One. I am replacing this engine with a new one. I took off the manifolds and risers. The motor has not been run for a couple of years. There is some caked up anti-freeze in the manifolds and risers. They are aluminum. Would hot water or another suggestion clean out the caked anti-freeze?
Thanks Roman

i've never seen what yer describing either. but since anti freeze is water soluable. seems like the hot water would be a good place to start at... if it don't work. maybe it's not caked up antifreeze...

New engine = new manifolds and risers. 500 American dollars for the whole shebang, 2 risers, 2 manifolds and all the gaskets in the same box.

Also i would like to see a pic of the aluminum manifolds, and risers.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will post a picture tomorrow late afternoon. Caked perhaps was not the best word. Jellied might be a better description. Pic to follow tomorrow.
Thanks again Roman

How much for that set? Ain't gonna be no 500 dollars. And your gonna use it in fresh water only?

Seen sets like that on cars at the track. Was i think 1200 a side.

Kodiak customs is the shop by me here near Englishtown raceway we all use to order parts.
