Going to fish in some local fishing tournaments in the spring and want to clean out the live well. What should I use to do this that won't poison the fish? Any advice on general maintanence after I start using it? Thanks for you help and advice in advance.

Get a spray bottle and some bleach.Be ventilated and spray everywhere.Let it sit for at least 10 minutes and follow up with a fresh water rinse and then any good detergent like simple green with a good scrubbing and rinse again and then some lemon juice and you are done.Charlie I guess a lot depends on how dirty it is already.

One or two drops of dish soap, 2 cups of hot water, and a green scrubbie should do it. Rinse with hot water.

I don't like using bleach on plastics, as they absorb the bleach which can dry out some plastic and make it brittle. JMO.

I agree Roscoe, but only if you dont rinse it.Bleach will not adversly affect plastic if you only leave it on for 5 minutes and make sure to rinse it.Some stains will only come out with bleach and some odors will not come out unless you use bleach.Charlie
