cleaning stainless props

hi i have a 1986 42ft eagle excalibur offshore that stays in lake ontario all summer when i haul it out in the fall i pressure wash it and remove my 4 blade stainless props they develop a hard crust over everything very thin but very hard i scraped a part with a peice of hard wood and it flaked off with the prop being totaly shinny underneth my exhaust tips are the same does anybody know a product that will remove this without scratching or harming the stainless Thanks Ralph

I use a mixture of muriatic acid and water, about a 50 /50 blend. Spray it on, and the dried crud goes away leaving a nice shiny prop.
Works for me amazingly well, even on the outdrive and other crusted surfaces.
If you choose this route, exercise caution with the acid- always add the acid to the water, not reverse. And becareful you don't get some on you. And rinse the crap outa everything with plenty of clean water.
