Cleaning TC carbs and Green residue/vertagrease

Just a quickie, after an adjustment to my throttle linkage, which wasn't quite correct at WOT, I also noticed a green residue in my TC carb and around the air relief on the carb. I always use stabil or other fuel stabilizers, and have had a clean out on my carbies recently. I also use a product called Doctor Fuel which cleans out any water in the line and and algae in the tank etc.

My question is, could I have cleaned out the carbies last time and have missed this with a cleaner, or could it have already been in the carb and the cleaner and air didn't clean it and it is only noticeable now cause of the fuel I am using.

I just haven't seen a green vertagrease type substance in my fuel system before please help. I used my boat about 2 weeks ago without any problems so this seems strange. It had a 1/16 coating of it on the shutter and some around the air relief on the carb. Should I clean them again or just let the petrol additive clean it for me.

More than likely just 2-stoke oil residue from the fuel. The gas evaporates and leaves the oil residue. I see greenish/bluish residue on and around my carbs from time to time.

I was thinking the same thing. I cleaned up this residue from around my carbs and the plastic baffles in front of them and it was dried up gas and some left behind 2 stroke oil.

Dump a can of Seafoam in it from time to time, some agree, some don't. I believe it helps keep things clean (carbon, grime, carbs..)
Won't hurt....

I actually had seafoam in it before this tank of fuel, I am using Doctor Fuel which eliminates moisture and stabilizes your fuel, but thanks for the comment. I took the bowls off both and found some white stuff floating in that particular bowl. Unsure what it was but it's gone now and the motor is running fine

Had a lot of oil on my plugs after it was hard to start again, still starts first click when warm but was running a bit rough, cleaned spark plugs and runs smoother now. Checked carbie settings and noticed one about 1/16 turn difference so adjusted rich 1/16 turn to match. Checked idle and did another adjustment as it had lowered slightly about 50 rpm. Strange though how the bottom plug had the most oil on it, is that normal there is about 3 psi difference with this to the others.
