Cleaning the black bug spray from marinas

Before I put the tarp on her and let her sit unused for a few months, I want to get the hull cleaned from the bug spray stuff the marina uses. I can brush most of it off but it seems the remaining spots need some additional elbow grease. Does anyone know the process to get this junk off? I'm hoping it's similar enough to what other marinas use in order to reduce the amount of spiders and someone can tell me what I need to do. It should even be 70 degrees this week so any necessary cleaners have the weather cooperating.

Ayuh,.... Wash it with soap, 'n water, 'n a brush....

My guess is, yer lookin' at spider poo, not the insecticide...

It might be a combination of both. The spots I'm concerned with get up to be the size of a dime and look like dark olive green or even black.

Toilet bowl cleaner is the recommended agent for stain removal on a gel-coated fiberglass hull. There are similar products, but they are essentially the same thing.

That sounds simple enough to get, and this is safe to use on the top part of the boat as well? I have a Baja 272 w/cuddy cabin and was looking to clean the exterior top portions.

It is safe for gel-coated fiberglass.

Are your 'top part of the boat' and 'top exterior portions' gel-coat?

If yes, then use toilet bowl cleaner.

If you use toilet bowl cleaner be careful to NOT get it on anything other than gel coat and rinse well and apply wax afterwards. Don't get it on any stainless steel (like a stainless rub rail). I wouldn't take a chance anywhere above the water line myself. When I do use it below the waterline I am VERY careful about any drips on the trailer...it will bubble right through the paint.
