Re: clicking when shifting

Shifting to slow will give the clicking noise sandspike. It's the lobes of the clutch dog and gears hitting of off each other.

The correct idle and a crisp snap into gear should produce a very gentle thud...one that's almost unnoticable.

This also saves wear and tear on the lobes....makes the gears last longer.

You should also remember that when running on muffs that the idle becomes naturally higher by about 3 to 400 rpm. This may cause a clicking when shifting. Try it in the water....if no clicking, should not be a problem.
