Re: clinton 7hp

Clintons are air-cooled motors with water-cooled exhaust. The gearcase comes off with one nut and one bolt. The bolt is in the exhaust snout in back, the nut is behind a cover in the front that prys off with a screwdriver. The water pump is on top of the gearcase and comes apart with two nuts. I haven't pursued finding parts yet. Maybe somebody else knows of a parts source? It's really tall, but otherwise like a small Merc impeller inside.

Use lawnmower/chainsaw oil. I mix mine at 32:1.

Re: clinton 7hp

Not really. Mine just dropped straight off. The water pipe grommets are rubber and sometimes they stick to the pipe and won't release without some gentle convincing. Also, sometimes the driveshaft rusts to the crankshaft. Wiggle it if you can to loosen up the rust if it's there.
