The J9 began production in 59 as a 5 hp at 6,800 rpm basically the same motor through 68.It uses an impeller for cooling.I don't have info on exact years.

this motor has a tecomesh air cooled fins on head . the impeller your talking about cool the foot or power head?

The impeller cools the exhaust leg.
are you sure it is a Tecumseh power head.I don't have any info indication that Clinton used a Tecumseh. Clinton built their own powerheads.Clinton was an engine builder assembling outboards under their name.Eska did use a Clinton powerhead on one model.

agreed. those were not much motor to start with and now that parts are hard to find they are less so.

no iam not sure it just looks similar to the power head on my eska so i just asumed it was. thanks four m :confused:

i got some old kickers i like to play around with .when i get to this one and if i can get it running i use it on in the shallow rocky part of the river ,if it breaks ill throw it back in the junk pile
