Just not sure what to do now. I have an old clinton k900 and the electronic ignition is shot on it. I'm told this ignition is very rare and extremely hard to find. What now? Is it possible to make a points system work or find a different electronic ignition that would work? I'm not sure how this electronic ignition works to begin with Thanks for you help.

Re: Clinton k900

I would think long and hard befor putting too much money into the Clinton.
Be sure it is sound ,do a compression test.
If its an old faithful you love see if you can fix it up.If it sat in the back shed for 10 years and you dragged it out; these motors can be heart breakers lots of hours and money and a motor that doesn't run the same 2 days in a row. They are noisy, vibrate, usually under powered with few parts sources. Put your money toward a Johnson/Evinrude 5,5.5,6,7.5 for the early
50s to the 80s.Smooth,relatively quiet, easy to work on and a vast supply of new and used parts.

I see the parts are hard to find. I won't sink a ton of money into it. However, with what the electronic ignition looks like, someone has to have figured it out. There has to be a way to "rebuild" these things. I would just hate to see a good motor become scrap b/c of something that goes bad readily.
