Hello all

Done almost all the gaskets that I can get at to so far. But the last one left is the exhaust divider plate in the center of the back of the motor. Someone told me that this is a critical to keep clean, is this true?

What are the symptoms of one being blocked up?

What damage can be done if you run the motor with one gunked up?

Thanks,
DamianJP

Just the water passages....

Engine runs hot as this is where the cylinders get their cooling water. This is first place water enters then the heads... too hot and engine goes "clunk" when it locks up..

Re: Clogged exhaust divider plate symptoms?

Hey again

If this area is clogged would it affect the stream coming out of the tell-tale?
And will it affect the water PSI?

And if the temp gauge reads normal can I assume this area isnt clogged up?
I have to get the boat in the water soon and I just realized that there is a small seal for the voltage regulator that connects to the back exhaust divder plate. Gonna take 3 to 4 days to order and receive which I don't have right now.

Thanks again,

Did you get this figured out. I have one that has high water pressure and gets hot and have not found any restrictions anywhere.
