Hi Fishhunter the clutch dog is located down in your lower unit, its what changes it from forward to reverse, when these guys wear you get a slip in your lower unit, if not fixed it will end up screwing up your gears.

Howdy, Hunter.

As Lon says, the clutch is in the gearcase.

A "dog clutch" is an in or out clutch. . .no slip. The clutch "dog" is the sliding part that engages either Forward, reverse, or neither.
