I'm pretty much a do it yourselfer on everything on this boat. I've replaced everything on it since I bought it. I am currently running a 87 Bayliner with a 350 and cobra outdrive. The clutch dog has been slipping since day one and now it's slipping all the time. I have had the cable adjusted several times and inspected by pros. It's time I've decided to replace the clutch dog. Would changing it out be a tough job? Is it an easy job for a do it yourselfer? I have split the halves before and changed out the carrier bearing in the past. How much harder would changing the dog be? Any special tools required? Also I found a lower unit on craiglist for cheap but it came off a OMC 800. Anyone know if that ill mount up to the cobra upper unit?
