:welcome: to iboats F200....

I see you haven't received any responses to your request. That some times happens when the iboaters read the thread but don't have any real answer to you inquiry. I did a quick google search on both your hydraulic jack plate system and the Minn Kota Talon anchoring system. And just seeing a few boats rigged with the Talon system, they seem to mount on the sides of the jack plate. I suspect with bolts that are attached to that jack plate openings. But that is just a guess from me.

You could contact your local Bass club for their ideas. Other then that, I honestly have never seen or used such a setup myself. :noidea:

Thanks for the reply gm280. I did searches including on youtube but came up with nothing on how the Talon actually mounts to my specific jack plate(CMC PL-65)
I guess I'll get a better view and idea when all the hardware comes in,
Thanks again!

Have you looked at the manuals for Talon anchors? A jack plate is pretty much a jack plate.

Yes, even contacted the Marine vendor that I was purchasing the Talon from. The only info that I received was use the "universal bracket."

Why don't you talk to the people that make the thing - Minn Kota?

Well, for ALL you that have a "CMC PL-65 jack plate", Minn Kota does not make a Talon bracket that will bolt to it. A "sandwich" style will have to be used or use the transom mount bracket (if applicable)

F200, I f I were there in person, I am pretty sure I could come up with a few ideas to design and manufacture something that would work perfectly. But not being there first hand, I have zero ideas other then work with the jack plate for the design. However, keep in mind that if you plan to use the hydraulic jack plate all the time (no set and forget setup) then you have to keep that in mind as you manufacture something to work. The fact that the position of bolt and nuts would change if the jack plate changes positions as well. So design something that can work with a dynamic changing jack plate. JMHO!

yes, I could also fabricate a bracket to work with the "CMC PL-65" jack plate, however i'm not looking to get into a lot of work. I wanted something already engineered to make the Talon installation quick and simple, from Minn Kota.
the initial question was when I was told that the "specific" modular bracket would work, I just couldn't see how w/o modifying it which then would void any warranty.
and yes, I researched and researched but only until the bracket came in, was I able to make a quick decision to return it a get a "sandwich" style bracket, which should have been the one originally, had "someone" knew what they were talking about. this sets me back a few days on install.

I really appreciate all the help guy's. Y'all have a great day and be safe

F200, yes having the parts in hand makes all the world of difference then simply seeing pictures of such parts. But I am certain there is a way to mount the Talon setup without too much ingenuity. When you get the setup working, take pictures and post them back here for others to see how it is done. You will be the "go to" guy for that issue I'm sure. JMHO!
