I bought a CMC power tilt/trim. Model PT-130. Last winter. I put it on my 16' v hull boat with an 1973 65hp triple Johnson. I couldn't use it last summer cause my motor isn't running right. IT LOOKS GREAT ON IT. LOL Goes up and down no problem. Just wondering if any1 has bought 1 and what they think of it. Thx

Re: Cmc Power Tilt?

I am looking at buying one of these units for my 50 HP Mariner. I really want power trim. Everything I have read so far is positive, my only concern is where to get replacement parts if the unit has a problem after the warranty has expired. I cannot find any supplier of replacement parts on the net. I think I will get one anyway as I can only use the boat from late April till early October, so it should last for a number of years.

they have been around for over 50 years, great reputation. i actually think the started doing it, before the manufacturers. has a cylinder on motor, and a hydrolic hand pump, in the stern of the boat.

I paid $550.00 for it with gauge. Brand new. I would hope that CMC could tell me where to get parts if I ever need them. But for being new I HOPE I won't have to buy any parts for a long time. lol

Re: Cmc Power Tilt?

Well, I have a CMC 130 on my Johnny 48SPL. It came that way.

Works fine as a tilt unit, but leaves a lot to be desired as a trim.

The speed of movement is the same through the whole range, so finding the right trim is a bump and hope proposition. Then, when you apply full power (or even cruise power) it drifts down and has to be reset.

I would much prefer an OEM dual speed PT&T. Used OEM PT&T units can be purchased and installed for a lot less than the cost of a new CMC unit.
