I ordered new gaskets from Napa for the drain screws and dipstick on my Cobra drive.Well they came in and were just rubber o-rings..
I looked them up again in my Napa marine book and it was the part numbers they show..
I'm afraid to use rubber o-rings where hard nylon gaskets should go.
Where do i get the correct ones??

Gary if you can locate a Volvo Penta or GLM marine parts dealer in your area they should have them in stock.

Dip stick seal #
GLM 81100
OEM 329381

Lower plug seal #
GLM 31171
OEM 311598

Re: Cobra drain plug gaskets.

Volvo doesn't carry the original Cobra seals and gaskets.
OMC had a bad habit of calling everything they made in their last years, King Cobra. They had the King Cobra with the dog clutch, then the King Cobra with the cone clutch (only a few made, not real popular), then they joined forces with Volvo in 94 and called it's joint venture drive, Well, ..... You guessed it, King Cobra. bad thing is, nothing but the general appearance of the the drive was the same.

Its still possible that a dealer will order the GLM parts for you if you furnish them with the part #s.

Thanks guys, I did look on doug russell, They were about 3 bucks in all but you had to place a 30 dollar order
Doug russell had different oem numbers than Reel Poor posted.
Thanks for the links Barry..i'll keep looking.
I know the rubber o-rings are a no-no,I tighten the screws up and the o-ring just pushes out..
Thanks Don S...You guys are great!

Any BRP dealer should carry them or can order them.

TC Electronics Marine is where I got mine. (www.sterndrive.info)

(You may wish to order yourself items you will need in the future like an impeller, or an outdrive gasket, or a bellows ...and/or maybe a transom service kit if you need a certain dollar amount.)
