Looks brand new! Great job. I would do this to my stringer, but it wouldnt match the worn down look of the rest of my boat and I would feel awkward. :)

Paint looks really good. Those ram stickers look good also. What kind of paint did you use?

I used Moeller OMC Cobra 25479 engine paint

After looking all over, I realized the liqui-domes were no longer available, so I cadded them out and made them myself on my plotter

Have you run it yet in the water? I ask becasue I re-did mine last year with the same paint you used and after one outing it looked like a faded gray. Not sure if I got a couple of bad cans of paint or what.

Did you polish the paint and then wax it? I gave it a few days to vent off, then ran the porter cable over it with a polishing compound and then applied a good carnauba wax... should hold up as well as the original paint

I had the same issue with the Moeller paint; it turned a bit gray after dunking.

I waxed it. It is hard to explain. It is like the paint is still there but the outer coat came off. I just hope you have better luck. As you know it takes time to paint those right. Mine looked real good for 1 trip to the lake.

Did you use clear over it? I put 2 coats of the OMC metallic on, then 2 coats of clear, and as said,, I let it dry in high heat for several days, then polished and waxed it... spent 8 hours in the lake yesterday, and it came out like it went in... now, if you waxed it before it had time to vent off, that could have been the failure... a lot of people don't know you need to let paint breath and release all of it's solvents before waxing. Otherwise, the wax holds the solvent in, and it eats away at the top coat of paint...
