Cobra water pump shaft

Can the water pump shaft seal be replaced without re shimming the drive? If so is it as easy as it looks? Just remove the 2 bolts that hold the adapter on and replace the seal. Is it matters the drive is an 1987.

yes, though the adapter can be difficult to get out. You will need to replace the O-ring and gasket as well.
