Have a 2002 Suzuki 50 HP 4 stroke. Engine would not crank. SDS software indicated CKP sensor fault. Monitor agreed with the software , flashing 4-2. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor (the later single style). The engine cranked up and runs fine . The monitor still continues to flash and sound the same code, from what I read in my notes it is supposed to clear itself when the cause of the fault is corrected and the engine is run. That is not happening. I am thinking that the air gap is wrong. Does someone have the correct specification for this. Other ideas openly entertained, thanks?

I went back and set the air gap at .010 " and it did not change anything.

Replace ECM. If you had followed the flow chart in the service manual, you would have checked the sensor first before replacing it. Check engine codes do not mean the sensor is bad - it just means the ECM is getting an out of range signal from the sensor. That could be due to bad sensoe, poor connection or failed ECM.
