Coil Help AQ131A

Looking for the Best Coil Option for my VP AQ131A, Converted to pertronix ignition, my coil is SHOT! so from what ive been reading that the stock volvo coil is discontinued, PN 35254 and has a internal resistor or does it??

therefore, should i get 40611 from pertronix?

also, should i clean and grease or oil my advance???

does the mechanical advance go bad???

coils are 6 or 12 volt, internal or external resistor. That's essentially it. If you're going to pertronix, I'd run a non-resisted wire to the coil, and use an internally resisted coil.

Yes, mechanical advance does degrade with time. Rust, dirt, time takes their toll. However, it's usually remedied with cleaning and adjusting.
