I have a 1977 85hp that has silicone covering some cracks in the coil windings. (I assume they are cracks?) I am going to replace a couple of them.
Is it a good idea to replace all coils at the same time?

if they are cracked they are going to fail, exactly when? i don't know. the most inopportune moment, no doubt.

Thanks,
Two seem to appear to be in perfect condition and I will replace the other two. I just wasn't sure if this would throw the spark strength off to make it run funny.

Replace the two with the cracks, take the others to your local OMC/BRP dealer and have them tested. If they test OK, slap them back on the motor and go boating!
