My 1974 9.9HP Johnson is not getting spark on the lower cylinder. Both coils are fairly new and from what I can see, are in great condition. Could I have a bad lower coil? I tested the coil with an ohm meter but I don't know what I should be getting. I am getting a few ohms from the hot wire to ground and getting nothing from hot wire out to spark plug wire (open). What is the best way to test these coils? Could it be some other problem besides the coil that I am not looking at?
Thanks for the time.

Re: Coil Testing???

You got 1 coil that´s working ?
compare them .
If I got your igniton right ,your coil shuld have 2 windings
Pimary winding - from point(hot) > ground Secundary winding - from ground > plug wire
I don´know how may ohm , but compare whit the working coil ,the shuld match +/- some % .
