My 06 50 Trl 2 stroke is a cold blooded wench. It takes a good 5 mins of cranking to start it when it's cold. Starts great when warmed up. Touch of the key. if I flip the little red lever by the middle carb a notch it will fire up much quicker when cold. I can't figgure out if the choke is working. I believe your suppose to push the key in to engage the choke. That doesn't do anything. I don't hear a click. No choke lever on the throttle control. It's a mystery. Runs great otherwise. Any advice?

pump bulb
push throttle only switch and move throttle to 1/4
turn key and push in to choke (actually enrichen)

my guess is the enrichener isnt working. so find out what is broken and fix it.

BTW, any cranking longer than 20 seconds and you should let your starter cool down for at least a minute. 5 minutes of solid cranking an you should be looking for a new starter soon

Is this a Yamaha?
if so, there is no choke, it is an automatic enrichment system. Pushing the key does nothing for it.
clean the carbs and set like the service manual calls for
