Any one ever heard about them? I don't see them around much, who makes them. I was thinking around a 15 or 20 horse.

I've heard of them but don't remember seeing one. I'm sure somebody else will chime in who has.

Re: Colman Outboards

Parsun makes them in China.
Lots of retailers have been trying to sell them around here.
A bunch of them have stopped selling them.
Deep discounts and then they don't restock.
Don't know why.
Apparently they just don't sell very well.

Parts are another story. Apparently these motors are copies of Yamaha motors,
and Yamaha parts are supposed to work. But which ones?

They are 4 stroke, but still aren't certified for sale in California. ??

Those rebadged engines are just good for goofing around or as an aux engine, forget all about for recreational or commercial uses, the bait is cheap price attached on the hook... Has bad metallurgy, bad quality seals and un expected electrical failures.

Down here are about half the price of any Japanese engine.. Parsun engines are also rebadged as Sail, Powertech to mention 2 same brands.

Re: Colman Outboards

Read the warranty and life expectancy and I suspect you will buy Japanese at twice the price like I did.

Re: Colman Outboards

In Canada, Canadian tire sold them until recently. They are rebranded motors, typically less expensive than the 'name' brands (Yamaha, Evinrude, Mercury etc.). The main problem is finding someone who can get the parts, as in many areas, they don't have a dealer network that also does the repairs.
