Hi all, I was a member here years ago having both a fiberglass pontoon (got sunk)(Partycat) and a deck boat. I have been out of boating for some time now and am thinking about getting another [pontoon. I am back to start to learn what I have missed over the years so far as updates and what I have also forgotten.

Re: coming back!

OK, here is my first question. In doing a little searching I have found what I feel would be a very nice fit for my wife and myself. I am thinking it may be priced a little high, but I am not sure. What are your thoughts on this boat, its features, and its price?

Even though it has a basically new motor, the boat is still 10 years old and is not worth the asking price. For a few thousand more, you could buy a new (or slightly used) one if you look hard enough. I think the motor is the key to his higher asking price, but IMO he's about 3 grand too high..

$7700 will buy you a brand new Merc 75 4 stroke at T and M marine in Grand Rapids Minnesota. I would call that a $5500 to $6000 motor right now. $1500 for the trailer, give him about $4000 to $5000 for the 10 year old boat and you're looking at about a $10,500 to $12,500 boat. Rick is right on in his evaluation. I would also bet you could buy it for $11-12,000 cash, $10K would be my first offer.

I have always held the opinion that until the 4th of july in central PA the boat market is a sellers market, after that it is a buyer's market. That boat will be less attractive every day he sits on it now.

It looks like a nice boat, with a good powerplant, make the guy an offer and get back on the water. :)

Re: coming back!

Thyanks guys, I just found out its sold. I liked the double bimini, rear sundeck/change room, and the fact that it had a couple captains chairs on the one side over the double couches. Oh well, the search continues!

I was figuring on not giving more then 12,500 for it, so I guess I am not too far out of touch!

I do appreciate the feedback you guys gave though.
