I have a 2000 Larson 330 with twin Mercruisers and Bravo 3 outdrives. The other day I was leaving the slip and could not get the port engine to engage into forward or reverse. I can push the button in and rev the engine but it will not go forward at all and will go down into the reverse position but never engages. The only way to move the port control forward is pushing the throttle button in and then it will let the controller move forward. Any ideas here...does it sound like it's something in the controller itself or somewhere else down the line?? I'm hoping its something in the controller. Also, does anyone know if there is a replacement controller that would work if I want to replace this controller?? Thanks!!

Something has either come loose, broke or the lower shift cable needs replacing. Your going to need someone to help. Have the motor running and the hatch open. With someone watching move the handle to forward and see how much the shift lever moves

Well, sounds like it'll have to wait until spring since I have already winterized her. Thanks for responding though. I appreciate that.

You need to disconnect the forward shift cable from the shift bracket on the engine and then see if the shift lever on the controller will move. If it still won't move, you'll need to disconnect the cable inside the control box to see if it's the cable or the box. If it does move OK, your problem is in the lower cable or the leg. You'd have to remove the out drive to find out which.

Thanks for the advice. Can I do this with the engines winterized or would I be better off waiting until spring??
