I have not seen any, and am guessing that the placement of compass on the console with the radio and other electrical stuff prevents the use of one. Do any of you have compass mounted on console, and if so any issues?
Yup it's called a GPS and no it does not pose a problem. My last two boats had conventional compasses mounted on the console and neither of them were bothered by electronics. They are magnetic devices. Fiberglass and aluminum are non-ferrous materials and will not bother a compass.
Mine had it next to the depth finder and stereo. It's now damaged and I'm not replacing it. This makes room for the fishfinder. The handheld GPS is better than the compass anyhow.
I have always had a compass on my pontoons. Just try to keep them about a foot from other electronics and you are good to go. Most can be calibrated if interference is a problem. The GPS is ok when you are moving but will not give a heading when stopped.
