My old motorola alternator MR12N451D bit the dust. I am looking for a replacement one but I can't find specs of new ones. Product pages don't have a lot of info. The boat is custom built but uses a marine ford 460 (7.5L) engine. I tried matching a rated ford 460 alternator but it doesn't fit since it uses 3" foot. I need a 2" foot.

I need one to match the dimension specs of this one (discontinued):

Single 2" bottom foot, 6.5" inch between mounting holes, marine certified, 1 or 2 wire hookup, single v drive belt (Gates 7312, 7/16" width) pulley.

Would these ones work?

Have you checked with a starter/alternator rebuild shop to see about getting it fixed?

It is so old, 40 years old and low amperage. I have a hydraulic trim pump that pulls 20 amps alone now (old alternator only rated at 37amp peak). I rather just get a completely new one.

A suggestion is to call the tech line at ARCO marine in Florida, they may be able to tell you which of their products will work.

Great people, found a cross referenced one from my old one and direct replacement. Thank you

wow that was fast, I have used them for both alternators and starters, they know their stuff.
